Coupon Campaingns for On-Top-Voucher

An On-Top Voucher is an additional voucher that is automatically added to the cart as a gift when a customer purchases a regularly available voucher in the shop. This voucher can have an absolute monetary value or a percentage-based value based on the purchase amount.
Depending on the settings, certain products can be included or excluded from the promotion.

To create an On-Top Voucher promotion, a voucher product (the On-Top Voucher item) and a coupon campaign must be created and linked.

Creating an On-Top Voucher

  1. The item must be created under Product Range & Content - Products & Categories
  2. The On-Top Voucher should be stored in the 1_COUPONS folder (if available) to keep track of different vouchers.

  3. Click New Product to create a new voucher item.

If an On-Top Voucher already exists, you can duplicate it and modify it accordingly.

NOTE: Users of the incert Express voucher system should proceed to Creating a Coupon Campaign if there is no voucher to copy. If you need a template, please contact us.

  4. Configure the On-Top Voucher item mceclip3.png
  1. Valid Until (in Days from Purchase Date): Set the validity period of the On-Top Voucher in days (365 = 1 year).

WARNING: How the system handles expired vouchers was determined in the initial setup document.

  2. Item Type: Select Discount Voucher (Reduction/Discount).
  3. Language: Under the language tab (e.g., German or English), define the item name and printed texts for the On-Top Voucher.

The further configuration follows the same steps as a value voucher. A detailed guide can be found in the help article Creating Vouchers.

Creating a Coupon Campaign

Once the On-Top Voucher is configured, the coupon campaign must be created and linked to the previously created product.

  1. Navigate to Coupon Campaigns.
  2. Click Insert to create a new discount code. In the following input form, you can configure the coupon campaign. mceclip1.png

Configuration

  1. The Coupon Name is the name of the promotion (e.g., Valentine's Day Coupon) and can be defined for each enabled system language.
  2. Coupon Description is an optional field.
  3. If the On-Top Voucher should be automatically added to the cart without the customer entering a code, enable Automatic Coupon Display. (This function must be system-wide activated. For questions, please contact service@incert.at)

WARNING: If Automatic Coupon Display is enabled, every customer who adds a valid item to the cart will receive an On-Top Voucher.

  4. Under Coupon Value, enter the value of the On-Top Voucher. By adding + before the number, it is identified as an On-Top Voucher. For an absolute value, enter the desired amount in euros without the € sign. For a percentage discount, append % after the value.

EXAMPLE: Entering +10.00 will generate a €10.00 voucher. Entering +10% will generate a voucher worth 10% of the total purchase value.

  5. Voucher linked to the coupon: Each coupon campaign is linked to an item for display in the cart and statistical tracking. If campaigns are linked to different items, they can be analyzed separately. Select an existing item (the one created earlier) or create a new one with "New Product." The checkbox Synchronize Product Texts ensures that the Coupon Name and Description fields are transferred to the linked item.
  6. If the On-Top Voucher should only be issued above a certain purchase amount, enter the value under Minimum Order Value for Coupon.

NOTE: If multiple coupon campaigns are valid at the same time, the one with the highest exceeded minimum order value will be applied. This allows tiered discount structures (e.g., for €100-199: -10%, for €200-299: -20%, for €300-399: -30%).

  7. The Coupon Code is the discount code that customers must enter to receive the On-Top Voucher (if Automatic Coupon Display is not activated).
  8. Number of Uses per Coupon defines how often the "discount code" can be used in total (leave blank for unlimited).
  9. Number of Uses per Customer defines how often a customer can use the "discount code" (leave blank for unlimited).

WARNING: Number of Uses per Customer is only possible with customer accounts.

  1. In the following lists, products/categories can be included or excluded from the "discount code."

  2. To include or exclude products/categories, the ID of the respective product/category must be entered. These can be found under Products & Categories in the ID column 2

  3. The fields valid from and valid until indicate the date and time from which the code can be redeemed and until when it remains valid.

NOTE: This setting has no effect on the redemption period of the on-top voucher.

  4. Clicking Save completes the setup of the coupon campaign and activates the discount code "live."

Testing in the Shop

We recommend testing the coupon in the shopping cart after saving. For testing, the valid from date should be temporarily set to today. Then, a valid product must be added to the cart, and the discount code must be entered in the cart. If the on-top voucher appears with the correct value, everything has been set up correctly. If invalid products have been defined, a cross-check is recommended.

Clear your cache! The browser cache stores images and other data to prevent them from being reloaded each time a page is visited. This reduces loading times but may also cause outdated images or templates to still appear in your shop, even though they have already been updated. The following key combinations open the cache menu in the most common browsers.

WINDOWS: "CTRL" + "SHIFT" + "DELETE"
MAC: "COMMAND" + "SHIFT" + "DELETE"

In the menu, which may look different depending on the browser, you can select the time period to delete as well as the data to be removed. It is recommended to select the longest period (All) and only check the cache data to avoid being logged out of applications. Depending on the browser, the cache data may simply be called "Cache" or "Cached Images and Files." After confirming the deletion process, reloading the website should display the latest images and designs.
