Accessibility - info & procedure

According to the European Accessibility Act (EAA), websites must comply with Level AA of the Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1) in the future. Whether these guidelines are met depends on technical aspects, settings, and content in the administration area, as well as the shop's style, which is usually based on the website or your design specifications.

"Technical Aspects" - Our System Implementation

With the latest version of our shop templates, we have created the foundation for an accessible display. This ensures accessibility according to relevant criteria at Level AA.

With a technical update, these necessary points become available in your system (migration of the template into your system and ensuring its compliance with your style adjustments). This means you fulfill all relevant criteria defined in WCAG 2.1 Level AA—provided that the aspects described in "Web Design" and "Content" do not lead to non-compliance.

"Web Design" - Our Style Implementation Based on Your Specifications

To ensure an accessible display, design aspects must also be considered. Examples include font sizes, contrasts, and the size of navigation elements (both in standard display, mobile, and interactions like mouse-hover). During the initial adaptation of your e-commerce system, we followed the website or specific design guidelines. These elements must be reviewed and adjusted if they currently violate WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards.

"Content" - Your Implementation in the System

To comply with WCAG 2.1 standards, an accessibility statement and the maintenance of alternative texts for images are required. We can assist by preparing the statement in the system. However, alternative texts must be maintained directly in the administration area.

"Approval" - Our Confirmation

We confirm accessibility within the defined scope. The test covers only elements provided by incert. For integrated systems, we only check our frame, independent of the integration page.

Next Steps Towards Accessibility

Please inform us of your current "Accessibility" status. Once we know the status of your website, we can coordinate the next steps with you.

Option 1

Your website is already accessible, and optimizations have been completed!

Then the necessary review and possible accessibility adjustments for your incert system can proceed.

Option 2

Changes to ensure accessibility are planned?

Then we can plan the necessary adjustments for your incert system as part of the website relaunch.

Option 3

No changes to ensure accessibility are planned?

Then you can decide whether we should still optimize the incert system, even if it deviates slightly from the design of your non-accessible website. Important note: Sales systems generally have no transition periods, unlike websites.

Please inform us of your status at beratung@incert.at so we can plan and coordinate the next steps with you.
